Lajitas Zipline Tour is located at Lajitas Golf Resort near Terlingua, TX. This project wasn’t a complete design/build project, rather it was a re-design/get it up to standard project. Lajitas had nine (9) lines at the time, and several of them were quite steep…i.e. pretty darn fast. These double-stacked ziplines needed work on their wire rope positioning and overall line profile design, as well as some problem solving on their braking systems.
We custom designed and installed our Hercules Braking System to safely stop riders arriving at the brakes at speeds up to 55 MPH. We also repositioned cables, assisted with landing platform relocation, and provided a general consultation, staff retraining, and a full overhaul of the tour and its supporting documentation, bringing Lajitas into alignment with both ANSI/ACCT and ASTM International standards. Several years in, we're happy to report that their systems are still rocking and rolling out in the desert.
